Tubular Conveyors
Tubular Conveyors

A Tubular Conveyor is designed to operate within the confines of a pipe. It is designed to transfer finely divided, flowable bulk materials from infeed points to discharge points through a totally enclosed, dust tight pipeline. It is a positive displacement device that has been used successfully throughout a wide range of industries for over six decades. Tubular conveyor gently moves dry bulk material through an enclosed tube without the use of air.

Tubular conveyors are an excellent solution to convey almost any kind of bulk material economically, cleanly, safely and with respect for environmental aspects. A tubular conveyor enables uncomplicated layout solutions with less cross stations, steelwork, chutes, drives, etc. Less auxiliary equipment means increased reliability in operation at lower costs. It is silent in opera- tion and the enclosed belt tube keeps the material handled undamaged and free from external impurities.

Applications

Tubular Conveyors are capable of conveying various kinds of bulk materials over distances of several kilometres, at steep angles and high capacities.

Due to the flexible design the tubular conveyor gives more freedom in optimizing the location of the main processing equipment and buildings on demanding sites. Horizontal and vertical curves enable to design the conveyor lines reliably and economically even in space limited environments.

Being free from any kind of spillage, the tubular conveyors are ideal for conveying bulk materials in sensitive environments with high demands for cleanliness and dustproof handling. Tubular conveyors are also economical and flexible to replace conventional conveying systems on existing installations.

Design

The design of tubular conveyors is based on conventional Belt Conveyors components like pulleys, bearings, drives, take-ups, etc. The transition and Conveyors sections are the special developments of this technology. The lump size is one of the key criteria for loading the tubular conveyor. Overloading can be avoided by using over-feed control at the tail end.

The support structure is made up of a series of steel panels. The panels have folded edges to ensure proper rigidity. The panels are joined together by angle stringers. The hexagonal configuration of the idler sets guarantees that the belt tube remains totally sealed over its entire length. The alignment of the belt is easily adjusted by means of lower Idlers. Special attention has been paid to dust proofness and ease of maintenance.

Advantages

  • Enclosed design keeps the environment clean and dust-free, no spillage.
  • Material to be handled is protected from external impurities.
  • Uncomplicated and flexible layout solutions for space limited sites.
  • Material can be handled at a steep slope.
  • Less cross stations and auxiliary equipment means higher reliability and lower operation costs, less maintenance and lower energy consumption.
  • Reliable technology, standard components already proven in conventional belt conveyors.
  • Silent as a belt conveyor.
