Six Sigma Courses
Six Sigma is a set of tools and strategies for process improvement originally developed by Motorola in 1986.Six Sigma became well known after Jack Welch made it a central focus of his business strategy at General Electric in 1995,and today it is used in different sectors of industry. Six Sigma seeks to improve the quality of process outputs by identifying and removing the causes of defects (errors) and minimizing variability in manufacturing and business processes.It uses a set of quality management methods, including statistical methods, and creates a special infrastructure of people within the organization who are experts in these very complex methods.
In Six Sigma Courses participants receive an introduction to the tools and methods that are necessary to successfully participate in Problem Solving and DMAIC improvement projects in a manufacturing or transactional environment. These tools will be introduced by a mix of up front teaching, and group exercises to ensure learning and knowledge retention. Training material is supplied in hard copy format for delegate use.
Six sigma courses are expected to be able to carry out process improvement activities and to participate in larger projects . Candidates should have good communication skills, and some experience of team working to improve processes or solve problems.They should ideally have some experience of using graphical displays of data in software, such as Excel.
