The Pressure Equipment Directive (PED) is an EU product directive that is mandatory since May 2002. The PED is a guideline for the design and manufacture of pressure equipment with maximum allowable pressure greater than 0.5 bar. Products covered include Pressure Vessels, Heat Exchangers, steam boilers, pipelines, storage tanks, pressure relief devices, Valves, regulators .

The aim of PED Training is to ensure familiarity with the relevant directives and where relevant how they relate to other legislation, in order to ensure compliance.



Training Objectives

The objective of our raining is to enable attendees to:

  • Have a general understanding of the PED
  • Be able to recognise equipment that falls under the ambit of the directive
  • Be able to determine into which category, particular pressure equipment falls into
  • Be able to compile a technical file
  • Be able to understand conformity assessment procedures
  • Be able to understand the concept of CE marking
  • Be able to draw up a Declaration of Conformity
