Heating Fans

Heating Fans or Industrial Fan Heaters are used for either heating or drying purposes and for applications where the naked flame of gas fire heaters cannot be used due to flammable or toxic environments.

Work Processes

Air is drawn through the heater and passed over an open spiral element. The motor is a quiet, low revving totally enclosed shaded pole type. The base of the heater is mounted on a wall with the facility to unplug the head piece for maintenance. For overheat protection manual reset overheat cut-outs are fitted. This provides added safety as the heater fault would have to be analyzed by the maintenance person when resetting.

Installation

The heating fan has been designed to be installed in two phases. The plug in termination allows for the mounting of the base and electrical connections during construction. The headpiece can be installed just before commissioning. Naturally all installations and wiring must comply with current regulations.

Materials

The element is designed to operate at black heat for the longest possible life. It is constructed of nickel-chrome alloy in an open spiral design on mica insulators. Aluminium castings are used for the base and grills with a pressed steel housing. The finish is in powder coated two-tone grey.
