'''Reflex Explosion Vents''' are designed to lift off at low pressures to create an aperture through which explosive flame and pressure can be released. In the event of process over-pressures and after some events it can place back into position for further use by just replacing the cassettes calibration plate. The life expectancy of the product is difficult to determine, as it depends on the number and magnitude of events to which it is subjected. In most cases, the reflex vent can easily be put back into operation after the explosion by replacing some minor parts.

==Common Advantages==
*High efficiency due to low mass and full exposure.
*High reliability through unit testing and certification.
*Accurate setting of static opening pressure (0.15 — 3.00 psig).
*Reusable after process overpressure and light explosions.
*Intensive to strong negative pressures (-80 in WC).
*Suitable for both dust and gas explosions
*100% efficient
*Can be used with both underpressure and overpressure
*Fast and easy mounting
*Can easily be re-used

==Constructions==
The Reflex vent panel is constructed as a “sandwich” of metal sheets on either side of expanded metal honeycomb or insulation. This provides extraordinary strength coupled with low weight. The panel is mounted on a frame, which is securely attached to the vessel. The panel is retained on the frame using release “cassettes” calibrated to release the panel once a pressure threshold has been exceeded.

These cassettes provide a very accurate release mechanism, with each unit being calibrated and checked prior to shipment.
