Magnetic Conveyors
Magnetic Conveyors are very useful for removing chips from hobbing machines, gun drilling machines, broaching machines, presses etc. Magnetic conveyors utilize permanent ceramic magnets moving underneath a stationary stainless steel slide bed to attract ferrous material and move it to the discharge point where the magnets leave the slider bed path and release the material.
Magnetic conveyor components which includes everything you need to modify an existing Belt Conveyors into a magnetic conveyor system or to build your own from magnetic conveyor from scratch. These components are designed for easy bolt-in-place installation. Only your imagination limits what you can do to move, stabilize, hold, space out, turn, lift, feed, and sequence parts and assemblies with magnetic conveyor components. The Conveyors can be submerged in oil tanks. These are available in various sizes and configuration.
Mechanism for picking up a magnetically permeable sheet from a stack of such sheets and for transferring the sheet to a magnetic conveyor comprising a pickup arm that has both magnetic roller means and readily releasable suction cup means. Suction cup means grasp a sheet, preferably while magnetic roller means are not in contact with the sheet so that double sheeting is safely avoided, and then, by pivoting the pickup means, the sheet is contacted and held by magnetic roller means on the pickup arm, with the vacuum in the suction cup means then being released, before there is any motion of the sheet on a magnetic conveying belt so that tearing of the suction cup means and possible marking of the sheets are safely avoided.
Types
Magnetic conveyors are of different types depending upon the application and configurations. The important types of magnetic conveyors used are as follows:
Beltless Magnetic Conveyors
The design of beltless magnetic conveyors are meant for providing positive control of ferrous metal materials. They are available in various forms and configurations.Below a non-magnetic stainless steel slider bed, permanent magnets are conveyed to move and convey ferrous metal objects. The sealed conveyor housing can be completely submerged in machine reservoir tanks and the internal self-adjusting take up system, which eliminates the need for maintenance.
Magnetic Belt Conveyors
Magnetic belt conveyors effectively convey the ferrous objects on high speed horizontal and inclined to vertical conveyor belts. Below the conveying belt there is a permanent or electromagnetic rail which attracts the ferrous objects to the belt. This magnetic attraction acts as a clamping force against the conveyor. This cause the ferrous objects to move with the belt and able to overcome any angle of incline or decline. Conveyors are available with different belt width.
Features
- The ferrous part is held to the belt by the magnetic conveyors.
- For elevation changes or part holding, it is suitable.
- It can also be applied for upside down applications.
- Strength and size of magnetic field depends upon the applications.
- It is available in different belt width.
- For incline and decline different types of angle options can be used.
Applications
Magnetic conveyor has wide applicability. They find their usage in the following industries:
- Mining
- Construction
- Chemicals
- Food
- Cement
