Grabs are used for loading and unloading seagoing freighters. These grabs are capable of handling any type of bulk good such as sand, gravel, or coal, and also refuse, scrap, and agricultural commodities. Grabs and spreaders are mainly used in ports and ships for loading and unloading seagoing cargo.
Features
- a reinforced steel construction meeting the requirements for a higher steelwork classification, a longer service life as a result, and *considerably more durable in continuous-duty operation under extreme conditions.
- additional hoists and slewing gear units and adaptation of the roller bearing slew ring and rope pulleys to the requirements of bulk *handling under extreme conditions.
- low dead weight of the mechanical grab and shorter closing times in comparison to the motor grab permit higher working loads per lift to be *achieved and, as a result, a total of some 30% greater handling capacity.
- special equipment, e.g. dust protection systems for individual requirements.
