Double Shaft Crushers
Double Shaft Crushers are used in crushing of medium-hard, brittle products in all branches of industry. The unit is often used as a coarse crusher for subsequent fine crushing or as a control crusher in pipes. It is manly chemical industry where these units are required as a result of the wide range of products. They are also used for braking up product agglomerates in bags or other bundles. Double-shaft breakers are arranged at the outlet side of dryers, centrifuges, agitators and bag and drum emptying devices.
Advantages
- suitable for versatile applications
- compact design
- easy cleaning
- optional GMP execution
Applications
Typical applications are crushing of organic and inorganic materials in the chemical, pharmaceutical and explosives industry, crushing of resins, pigments, minerals, phosphate, salts materials for welding roads and metals etc.
Operations
Installation of the double shaft crusher is on a platform or on top of a pit. Feeding is done with a vibratory feeder. Material is crushed between two rolls rotating at different speeds. Grinding gap and grinding pressure can be adjusted. Fine material gets discharged to the bottom of the machine housing.
Smooth rolls are standard. A variety of different roll designs is available to be able to adapt to different crushing applications. Bearings are outboard and no grease can enter the grinding chamber. The rolls are each driven by a gear motor. Speed adjustment by frequency control is available as an option, as well as hydraulic motors.
