Gravimetric Screw Conveyors consist of three major components that are volumetric feeding device, weighing system and a controller. The weighing system can be either a platform scale where a volumetric feeder is placed on the scale, or an integrated weighing frame with load cells.
Gravimetric Screw Conveyors can be equipped with different hoppers and different feed devices to suit the application. The weighing frame is usually supported from the top and access to Extruders are not impeded. The modularity of this design and all-around access to the feeder makes this line very attractive for plastic compounders, chemical and ceramic manufacturers as well as extruded food producers.
