Filter Valve directs the flow of water through the filter. There are two main types of filter valves. The simplest is the gate, or push pull, valve and the other is the multiport valve.A filter valve is a feature that allows the flow of water to be reversed through a sand filter or diatomaceous earth filter in order to refresh the filter by loosening accumulated dirt and debris and leave the sand or clean and ready for further use.
