Flat Belt Idlers are used in transmission systems that are driven by high speed flat belts. These pulleys are provided with a molded crown that helps to center the belt without rubbing against the outside flanges. These also provide support under the center of the belt at stress able area. Besides, this crown also helps to keep the belt intact on the flat belt pulley, since the belts tend to move to the tightest position.
