Helical Gear Mixers

Helical Gear Mixers are commonly used in material and chemical process, cement/aggregate, and pollution control.

Common Features

  • Drywell construction helps protect against leakage of lubricants.
  • Delroyd worm gear sets operate with multiple tooth contact at all times.
  • This assures shock-less power delivery.
  • Operation is smooth and quiet.
  • Economical and efficient mixing at lower speeds

Typical Construction Materials and Operations

Helical Gear Mixers utilize all helical gearing made from SAE 8260 steel, carburized to hardness of 58 to 62 Rockwell C, and ground to AGMA Quality Level 12, assuring quiet operation below 85 dbA. The in-line Helical Gear sets are available in double and triple reduction and are arranged to provide a compact footprint, within a durable and corrosion-resistant cast iron housing, SAE Class 30. Oversize tapered roller bearings are used on the output shafts to provide excess capacity to accommodate the loads generated on a mixer drive. Heat and shock loading is isolated with a flexible coupling between the motor and the gearbox. The hollow-quill shaft design allows for precise attachment to the mixer shaft without the use of an in-tank coupling. Solid shaft designs are also available. Standard c-face motor mounting is designed for simple trouble-free installation, with positive registers for repeatable alignment. Motor scoops are available if foot-mounted motors are preferred.
