During the crushing of the ore there are many fine particles created that need to be agglomerated with the main stream. This is accomplished by tumbling and mixing the large particles and fines with a liquid binder in the agglomeration drums. During this process the smaller particles attach to the larger ones to create a more uniform particle size distribution.
 
A uniform distribution is desired to maximize the heap leaching process. During the heap leaching a large amount of leaching solution is added to extract the minerals  from the ore, if the particle size is not uniform the leaching process will not be as effective due to the segregation of particles. Rotary Agglomerators

Rotary Agglomerators are used to process the low grade ore and other minerals. As the mineral is mined it is crushed to size prior to entering the agglomeration process. During the crushing of the ore there are many fine particles created that need to be agglomerated with the main stream.
