Batch Crushers

Batch Crushers are Crushers that are used in batch processes. They are used as a preferential crusher to separate metallic minerals from slag, where the slag contains appreciable amounts of metallic mineral from the mill.

The treatment of slag is usually in a batch process. This involves a set amount of slag being processed through a circuit. After the first pass the liberated metallic mineral is separated from the slag. The waste non-metallic and still-trapped metallic mineral is then processed again through the circuit. This continues until sufficient liberation is achieved.

The preferential crushing action of the unit is used to reduce the softer slag which normally coats the metallic mineral. This allows the liberation process to effectively separate the valuable mineral form the waste, so that it can be recycled back to the mill.
