Jet Mixers are jet pumps to mix and circulate liquids. The range of applications for liquid jet mixers is only limited by the viscosity of the liquid to be mixed. As a rule jet mixers can be used in all cases where the liquid to be mixed can still be supplied by a centrifugal pump. Jet mixers are mainly used in vessels, storage tanks and neutralization basins.
Working Principles
Jet Mixer uses a low shear rotor-stator mixing head to create a unique tank flow pattern which efficiently and uniformly maintain solids in suspension or quickly blend liquids together. The discharge jet produced by the Jet head creates a top-to-bottom rollover in the tank which eliminates the inefficient radial flow pattern common to traditional agitators and other open-impeller mixers.
The Jet mixing pattern will not create a liquid vortex, which means hard-to-clean tank baffles can be eliminated and product air entrainment is no longer an issue. The strong axial flow pattern produced by the Jet Mixer is also ideal for suspension and re-suspension of high settling rate solids.
Common Advantages
- Eliminates vortexing and unwanted product air entrainment
- Eliminates problems with stratification and dead mixing areas throughout the vessel
- Reduces blend times by as much as 80%
- Easily suspends and re-suspends high-settling-rate solids
- Significantly improves heat transfer rates
- Easily maintains complete tank motion of non-Newtonian fluids
Common Areas of Applications
