Mixing Silos

Mixing Silos are also known as vertical mixers or fountain mixers. These batch mixers are ideal for mixing large quantities of material quickly and efficiently. Applications include the addition regrind, masterbatch, pigments and other additives to plastic granules or powder to form a homogeneous mix.

Common Function

The materials to be mixed are fed into the mixing silo either from the top via a cyclone or via the feed hopper at the conical lower section. In the screw housing the conveying screw transports the materials vertically upward where - due to the rotational movement - they will be radially discharged into the silo's storage space. In this way an intensive intermixing of the fed materials is achieved.
