Silo Discharge Equipment

Silo Discharge Equipment are similar with the Silo Discharge Systems and is commonly equipped with aeration systems. aeration systems can simply be retrofitted to existing silos and hoppers, with aeration pads mounted externally. Options are available to suit various foodstuffs and high-temperature applications. Siloflo systems provide a reliable discharge method with low operational and maintenance costs.

For larger applications, fabricated steel fluidisation pads are available in a range of sizes up to 300mm x 1,800mm. They can be supplied with a permeable plate material appropriate for the properties of the material being handled.

Silo discharge equipment is used with products that have such bad flowing characteristics that gravity alone is not sufficient to make them flow from the silo, tank or hopper. As a result, typical flow problems occur such as clinging, arching, bridging and rat holing. Both aeration and mechanical systems can be supplied in order to restore flowability.

Benefits

  • Low running costs - efficient energy use
  • Low maintenance - for long-life performance
  • Easy to retrofit - simple installation
  • Access from outside the silo - for ease of maintenance
  • Flush fitting - no obstructions on the internal silo surface
  • Extensive range of assembly options - to suit any silo configuration
  • Food quality and high-temperature options - for the stringent demands of specific applications

Common Equipment Included

  • Rotating sensors
  • Capacitive and inductive sensors
  • Continuous sensors
  • Ultra sonic sensors
  • Tilt switches
  • Load cells / weighing modules
  • Limit switch for silos with fine-grained or coarse-grained, non-fluidised bulk solids. The various designs means the device has a wide range of applications. Certificates are also available for use in dust incendive hazard areas.

Soliphant is a rugged limit switch for silos containing powdered or fine-grained solids, including those with very low bulk densities. The various versions ensure it can be used in a wide range of applications, including dust explosion areas and foodstuffs.
