Loss in Weight Dosing Systems
Loss in Weight Dosing Systems

Loss in Weight Dosing System is designed for continuous weighed dosing of powders and granulates at desired dosing rate. The equipment contains a PLC, weighing modules, a legal-for-trade weight transmitter and an operation panel. The equipment is pre-calibrated and pre-adjusted at factory for plug and dose operation.

Loss in weight technology

Loss in weight dosing system doses material at desired capacity (X kg/h). The dosing controller monitors the dosing rate constantly and automatically adjusts the speed of revolutions of the dosing screw accordingly. The dosing rate locks on to the latest dosing rate when the dosing hopper is being filled. After filling, the controller begins to monitor and adjust the dosing rate again. The controller sets an alarm ( local and remote) if actual dosing rate deviates from set tolerances. The controller sets an alarm if the big bag hopper is empty or there’s a delay in the filling cycle of the feeder. The controller can be operated locally or with remote access.

Features

  • Unique for the architecture
  • With horizontal sliding powder or granulate feeding system
  • Also for fine powder, sensitives granulates as chocolate culrs
  • No segregation during dosing
  • Compact and high accuracy
  • Up to 400 kg/h
  • Batch or continuous
  • Easy cleaning after quick dismantling without tools

Operating principle

Powder is collected into lower tank, placed on a weighing platform, in order to monitor weight continuously.Processor checks mass flow exiting from lower tank measuring weight with high speed sampling system. When lower tank is almost empty, it is quickly re loaded with powder stored into upper tank, material falls from upper tank down to the lower one thanks to the opening of a butterfly valve pneumatically actuated.During this short period of time, control system switch from gravimetric mode to volumetric mode, until lower tank is completely refilled.A correct sizing of tank volume, related to desired mass flow, allows few refills. The storage of powder into upper tank is made by vacuum suction pump.
